Karen J. Morse, 75, of Middlegrove, IL passed away at 6:23am, Sunday, February 4, 2018, at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.
She was born on January 12, 1943 in Moline, IL daughter of Clark and Eulalia "Dolores" Lundberg Gooding. She was raised in the home of her grandparents Emil and Eulalia Lundberg in Rock Island, IL. She married Rodger Morse on February 28, 1959 in Farmington, IL. He passed away on January 13, 2009.
Surviving are four children Tammy Fields of Lewistown, Roger (Dinalyn) Morse of Middlegrove, Beth (Jeremy) Isbell of Middlegrove and Bobbie (Neil) Nelson of Farmington. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren Kara, Jessica, Camille, Luke, Taylor, Christopher and Kelsey along with 9 great grandchildren. Further surviving are one brother John (Joyce) Smith and one sister Carol (Ron) Cholewinski all of Moline, IL. Other survivors include several nieces, nephews, cousins and Karen's little neighbor girl.
She worked in activities at the now Renaissance Nursing Home in Canton. She later worked at Farmington Nursing as the activities director for several years and ending her career at CWTC as the house manager at Broadway Arms in Lewistown.
She was very active with the promotion of the Spoon River Valley Scenic Drive serving as the area Representative for Middlegrove, and also serving as a past president. She enjoyed her small town living, planting her vegetable garden and flowers each year. She was a lover of her cats, her dog Little Miss and especially loved the home cooked meals from her niece Robbin. Cremation rites have been accorded. A time to celebrate her life, will be held Saturday, February 10, 2018, at the Community Building in Middlegrove from noon until 4:00pm. Graveside services will be held at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Farmington at a later date. Memorials in her name may be given to Middlegrove Homecoming Association.
