Karen L. Roberts, 78, of West Peoria, IL, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 2, 2024, at Heartis Village Assisted Living in Peoria, IL with her sons by her side.

She was born on March 4, 1946, in Peoria. She was preceded in death by her father George Cox, parents Clifford and Maxine Schifeling, sister Sandy Bishop, infant brother Donald, and her husband of over 40 years, John F. Roberts.

Karen is survived by two sons, Michael (Poppy Matlock) Vinovich of Bartonville, IL, and Jeffrey (Christina) Vinovich of Edwards, IL; one step-daughter, Lisa Roberts of Peoria, and one step-son, John Roberts II of South Carolina. Also surviving are seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Karen was a proud 35 year breast cancer survivor. When she wasn't taking care of John, she spent her time as an avid crafter for many years. She was happiest when she was surrounded by family.

At Karen's request, cremation rites have been accorded. A Memorial Mass is scheduled for 10:00 am on Thursday, September 12, 2024, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Bartonville with Monsignor Jerry Ward officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to her service. Inurnment of her remains will be at a later date at St. Mary's Cemetery in West Peoria.
