Karen Seaton

Karen Ann Seaton (Gunterman), 59, of Peoria Hts. passed away on Monday, January 28, 2013. She was born on January 26, 1954 in LaPorte, IN to Eugene and Frances (Cookie) Gunterman. She is survived by her son: Steven Ray Matarelli II (Deanna) of Wylie, Texas; her Grandchildren: Kirsten Purser 15 and Jamie Matarelli 12 of Wylie, Texas, Jazmine McAbee 10, and Ryan McAbee 8, of Metamora; her Sisters: Sandy Miller (Wayne) of Germantown Hills; Jeannie Palomares of Peoria; Doris Gunterman of Pottstown; her Brother: Gordon (Christine) Gunterman of East Peoria; her nephews: David Miller, Lenny Palomares and Ryan Gunterman and her nieces: Bobbie Locke and Dana Adkinson of Peoria; She was preceded in death by her daughter: Sally Gunterman; Mother, Frances Willard; Sister, Rose Adkinson and her niece: Tina Adkinson. Karen had a huge heart and was always ready and willing to help anyone in need. She was employed as a caregiver for many years but did not think of her duties as a job and always went above and beyond to provide tender and thorough care for her clients. She grew to love each and every person she took care of and treated them like they were her own family. She enjoyed football, gardening and cooking, but most of all she loved being with her family especially her Grandchildren and her huge circle of friends. Karen was loved by everyone who truly knew her and she will be forever missed. In honor of Karen's wishes, cremation has taken place and no funeral service will be held. Friends and family are invited to a celebration of her life which will be held at East Peoria Boat Club on March 2, 2013 from 3-6 pm. Anyone unable to attend the early celebration can join her friends at Trust Me on Galena Rd from 8-11 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to an educational trust fund at First National Bank of Chillicothe for her grandchildren: Jazmine and Ryan McAbee, who recently lost both parents.
