Kathleen M. Witkowski

Kathleen M. Witkowski, 74, formerly of Sesser, IL and Valparaiso, IN passed away on Sunday Sept 30th, 2012 at the home of her daughter Karen. She was born on May 28, 1938 in England the daughter of Charles and Elsie Kershaw Cairns. She married Bernard Witkowski on July 2, 1960 in Wheeler IN. He passed away on February 23, 2004. One brother, one sister and one granddaughter also preceded her in death. Surviving are two daughters Carolyn (Mike) Haberkorn of Kempton, IL and Karen (Shawn) Hoyle of East Peoria, IL; one son Kevin Witkowski of Christopher, IL. She is also survived by five grandchildren Brian, Cortney, Kaitlynd, Josten and Brandon; three great grandchildren Camdin, Daelin and Emalin as well as one sister Pauline (Glenn) White of Valparasio, IN. Kathleen worked at the First National Bank of Valparaiso for several years as a teller. She later worked at Walmart in Valparaiso as a cash manager. Cremation rites have been accorded with a Celebration of Life Service scheduled for Saturday October 13th at 2pm at the Church of Christ in Sesser, IL. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given in her name to your local Alzheimer's Association or to the American Cancer Society.
