Kathryn E. Counsil

Kathryn E. Counsil, 75, of Dunlap, IL passed away at 6:12 am on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria. She was born on October 26, 1942 in Peoria, IL to Theodore and Blanche (Chamberlain) Bontjes. She married Edward C. Counsil II on June 16, 1963 in Peoria. He survives.

Also surviving are two sons Lenz (Tracy) Counsil of Woodridge, IL and Ed (Sara) Counsil III of Dunlap; and six grandchildren Zachary, Madeline, Eddie, Zoie, Sierra, and Elwood. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Kathryn was a secretary in the Industrial Engineering Department at Bradley University for 28 years. She enjoyed gardening in her garden and going to the theater with her husband. She loved Bradley Basketball and watching her grandchildren play sports.

The family would like to thank the staffs at Illinois Cancer Center, OSF St. Francis Hospital, and especially the Richard L. Owens Hospice Home.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 pm on Sunday, November 19, 2017 at Prospect United Methodist Church in Dunlap with Pastor Steve Pichaske officiating. Memorial Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm until service time on Sunday at the church. A meal will be held at the church immediately following the service.
