Kathryn I. Jones

Kathryn I. Jones, 70, of Wyoming passed at St. Joseph Nursing Home in Lacon IL. on Saturday, March 17, 2018 with her family by her side.

She was born July 23,1947, in Peoria IL. She was adopted by the late David and Carolyn Lachnit Smith. She married William Jones on June 23,1974, and he passed on April 17, 2008.

Surviving are her sons Robert (Jennifer) Jones of Wyoming IL. and Oliver (Kelly) Jones of Cincinnati OH, one daughter Amanda (Carl Brittingham) Jones of Wyoming, IL. She has seven grand-children, Ian (Morgan) Jones, Hannah Jones, Samantha Schraeder, Benjamin Jones, Cassidy Jones, Sydney Brittingham, and Evelynn Jones along with two great grandsons Tucker Jones and Kayden Wood. Also surviving are one brother Jeff (Carol) Smith of Lizton IN and two nephews Scott Smith and Allen (Tracy) Smith.

Kathryn was a homemaker and local rural newspaper carrier until she retired in 2006. She was an active volunteer in 4-H, and a 4-H leader. Kathryn was an amazing cook, loved gardening, flowers, crafts, tractor pulls and all family gatherings and will be greatly missed.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Private graveside services will be in Pottstown Cemetery in Peoria.
