Ken Blue

Kenneth "Ken" L. Blue, 68, passed away in his chair "Command Central" on June 28, 2015, in Peoria, IL. Ken was born on February 26, 1947 in Elkhart, IN to the late Don and Else (Liedigk) Blue. Ken is survived by his life mate, Fran Weber of Peoria; two sons, Donald L. (Anne) Blue of Germantown Hills, Joshua L. (Stephanie) Blue of East Peoria; two grandchildren Riley and Owen Blue; Fran's children, Tom Hammond, Lynda (Mark) Gilles, four grandchildren that called him "G.K.B." because he was Grandpa Ken Blue to them. Fran's son Tim Hammond preceded him in death in 2010. Ken was known for his sense of humor and knowledge of everything a.k.a. "Blue-isms". He was a loving father and true family guy who enjoyed golf, fishing, camping, gardening, and making people smile. Ken's faith in God, his church, and his New Apostolic Church family of which several called him "Uncle Candy" because of his generosity and good heart were of prime importance to him. Cremation Rites have been accorded. Please join us in celebrating Ken's life on Thursday, July 2, 2015 at the New Apostolic Church 5341 N. Sheridan Rd. Peoria with visitation beginning at 6:00 p.m. and services following at 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family suggests those wishing to send memorials may do so to the New Apostolic Church.
