Kimberly "Kim" (Caldwell) Forbis passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on March 28, 2018. Kim was a fighter, and fought courageously to the end.
Kim was born on April 1, 1958 in Peoria IL to Robert and Ruth (Kaufman) Caldwell. Kim graduated from Peoria Heights High School in 1976. She went on to pursue a career in nursing and worked at several different nursing homes and care facilities throughout the years. She also worked several years for Canteen Services in Peoria IL.
Kim married Steve Forbis in June of 2001, and he survives. Steve stood by her side through thick and thin and with the help of her mother, cared for Kim for several years while she battled numerous health issues.
Kim is survived not only by her loving husband, but also her mother, Ruth Ann Caldwell of Peoria IL, Sister Carla Caldwell (Jeff Faulkner) of Peoria, brothers Robert "Bob" (Faye) Caldwell Jr. of Sunnyland, Mark Caldwell (Patty Hardin) of Peoria Heights, Bradley "Brad" (Teea) Caldwell of St Charles Il, and Michael "Mike" Caldwell (Crystal Burden) of Pekin Il Son Brett Schappaugh (Heather Miller) of Peoria daughter Jenny Schappaugh (Chris) Tippett of Elmwood. Kim also has 3 granddaughters and 1 grandson who will miss her terribly along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family. Kim was preceded in death by her father Robert Caldwell and grandparents.
Kim was a caring, loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and daughter. She brought so much joy to so many people's lives. She loved to fish and camp, and she always looked forward to going the State Fair. Her loving husband Steve made sure she got to the fair every year! Kim also enjoyed peaceful evenings in her yard swing spending time with family.
Kim will be sorely missed by her loving family and friends. Her smiling face will forever live in our hearts!
Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service is scheduled for 2:00pm Saturday, April 21, 2018, at Peoria Heights Congressional Church, 4906 N. Prospect Rd, in Peoria Heights. A celebration of life will then follow her church service at the VFW 1505 Lake Ave in Peoria Heights. We welcome everyone to come join us as we celebrate Kim's life, a life that was taken away too soon.
