Larry Evans

Larry D. Evans, 72, of Green Valley, IL passed away at 9:16am on Monday, September 23, 2013 at Kindred Hospital in Peoria. Larry was born October 23, 1940 in Downs, KS; the son of Robert Clay and Clara A. Evans. He married Carol Grens July 18, 1961 in St. Louis, who survives him. He is also survived by three daughters Donna (Jimi) Stewart of Antioch, IL; Annette (David) Hitchcock of Harvard, IL; Karlene Weidner of Peoria, IL; one son Larry (Lisa) Evans of Pleasant Prairie, WI; 8 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren as well as one sister Stella Vertin of St. Joseph, MO. His parents, 3 sisters, 3 brothers, one grandson, and his favorite dog preceded him in death. Larry served in the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1962. He worked at Komatsu Dresser in Libertyville, IL from 1966 to 1990 and was an owner operator of L.D.E. Trucking in McHenry, IL. He was an avid car collector and enjoyed restoring old cars. Cremation Rites have been accorded with a Celebration of Life to be held on October 13th 2013. For more information the family ask that they be contacted for additional details.
