Lavon K Schuster

Lavon Knight Schuster, 92, passed away at her home on Sunday March 3, 2013 at 6:11 pm in Metamora, IL. She was born May 19, 1920 in Mountain Home, AR to Nancy Belle and Henry Knight. Lavon married Edward J Schuster on June 24, 1939 in Peoria, IL. He preceded her in death in 1976. Survivors include her children Nancy (Stanley) Gentaras of Escondido, CA. Edward J. (Carol) Schuster, Jr of Tacoma, WA and Bess L. (Ronald ) Volz of Metamora, IL. Grandchildren include Jennifer Florida, Kent (Julie) Volz, Kimberlee (Craig) Gieseke, Heather (Tyler) Vogt, Edward J Schuster III, Jeffrey (Kim) Schuster and LeaAnne (Dean) Wildfang. She had 9 great grandchildren, Ian Edward Florida, Megan E. Florida, Caitlin Bess Florida, Graham L. Florida, Emily Racel Volz, Ethan Andrew Volz, Sarah Bess Collier, Michael Collier, Zachary Wildfang, Alex Wildfang, and Riley Tyler Vogt. 1 great great grandchild., Addison Jane Newman, as well as many nieces and nephews. Lavon was a die hard Cub fan who loved old country music and the Grand Ole Opry. She worked for Hiram Walker for 25 years, retiring in 1980. Cremation Rites have been accorded and a memorial service is being planned at a later date to accomodate family and friends.
