Lawrence H. Rowe, 64, of Peoria, IL passed away at his residence at 2:54 a.m. on Monday September 12, 2011. Lawrence was born in Fancy Farm, KY on June 25,1947 to Elmer and Nellie (Riggs) Rowe. He leaves behind the love of his life of 49 years Janice Rowe and 2 sons; Gary (and Lisa) Rowe and Marty Rowe and one daughter; Glenda (and Greg) Ortega. And 7 grandchildren; Brianna, Maddie, Joey, Bobbi, Amber, Jake, and Nicholas and 4 great-grandchildren; Payton, Ayden, Kylie, and Jo Jo. Also surviving are 2 sisters; Mary Overturf and Brenda (and John) Rosiak and one brother; Elmer (and Connie) Rowe. Lawrence was preceded in death by one brother, Philip Rowe and one sister, Dorothy Horton. Lawrence was an exceptional welder who worked at Caterpillar and WABCO. He passed on his love of cars to his son Gary; his love of guitars to his son Marty and his love of raising chickens and tending a garden to his daughter Glenda. In times of troubles, he would tell Janice, "It ain't no hill for a climber". In the advancement of medical research, Lawrence donated his body to science. A Celebration of his life will be on Saturday October 29, 2011 at the Creve Coeur Community Center starting at noon with a potluck lunch followed by memories of Lawrence until 2:00 p.m. Please feel free to bring a covered dish and pictures.
