Marsha L. Barnes

Marsha Lee Barnes (Birdsell) 69, of Peoria, passed away Friday, October 20, 2017 at Unity Point Health Methodist Hospital in Peoria.

She was born on May 9, 1948 in Chicago, IL to Eugene Alberta "Maxine" Birdsell. Raised by her mother Maxine and David Green, she married Chuck Barnes Sr. on September 23, 1968.

Surviving are her ex-husband Chuck of Las Vegas, NV, two sons Scott (Dawn) Barnes and Chuck (Shelly) Barnes all of East Peoria, three grandchildren, Shaun Sears, Zach (Erin) Barnes and Kylee Barnes all of East Peoria. Also surviving are eight great grandchildren Mason, Jaycee, Xandyr, Ryder Steeler Reid Kainon and Charlee. Further surviving are her siblings Larry Birdsell, Rick (Dawn) Birdsell Donna (Randy) Davidson-Tortat, Cindy Scott, Kim Pease, Debbie Rexroad, Gail Birdsell and John Birdsell. Her parents and her very best friends Gail Parks, Val Alton and June Coffman preceded her in death.

Marsha worked for Hiram Walkers Distillery for many years but retired from District 150. She was an active member of the Church of Christ Northwest in Peoria. Marsha enjoyed being around her friends and family and she was a very proud grandma. She was a fan of the Chicago Cubs and the Pittsburgh Steelers. Marsha was also both of her son's #1 fan when it came to dirt track racing. Marsha was a great friend, she had a heart of gold and she loved Jesus Christ.

Cremation Rites have been accorded. A Memorial Service will be held 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at Church of Christ Northwest, 7722 N. Allen Rd. Peoria, IL. A time to celebrate Marsha's life will be held Friday, November 10, 2017, from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Fraternal Order of Eagles, 1704 South East Lane, Peoria, IL.
