Mary Lotus Barker, 86, passed away gently at home surrounded by family on March 6, 2012. A loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she never lost her faith throughout her courageous battle with cancer, and knew her reward would be in joining with her heavenly Father and loved ones gone before her. She was born April 1, 1925 to Donald and Eileen (Horton) Agnew. She married Jack Barker on March 5, 1947. Jack passed away on January 13, 1990. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one sister and one brother, a son-in-law, Jeff Oppe, and her own little guardian angel, her great-granddaughter, Dylan Faith Kulik. Mary is survived by three sons, Richard (Cathy) Barker of Peoria, Donald (Lynne) Barker of East Peoria, and Daryl (Scott Haines) Barker of Clearwater, Florida and one daughter Christine (Richard) Buyck with whom she lived with. She also had seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Mary was a diagnostic technician with St. Francis and Internal Medicine Group. She also did volunteer services with Methodist Medical Center. Mary's family wishes to thank Dr. Dean Gravlin, Dr. Robert Crawford and the entire OSF Hospice Group. Cremation rights will be accorded and private services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to TAPS or OSF Hospice.
