Mary Kay Boss Chamberlain, 62, passed away peacefully at home Wed., June 4, 2014 with her loving husband, Craig, at her side. Mary was born August 4, 1951 in Decatur, Illinois, daughter of Cleo and Katherine Boss. She met Craig Chamberlain at The Chicago Lighthouse for the Blind where she took courses in medical transcription. She then worked at Mercy Hospital in Chicago and Westlake Hospital in Melrose Park. Mary and Craig were married April 28, 1979 in Decatur. They lived in Springfield for many years; moving to Bloomington in 1994 where they retired in 2008. Mary was a sweet, kind woman who fought only the disease of cancer. She volunteered in several clinical trials at MDAnderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas to help save the lives of others with inflammatory breast cancer. Now that she's in her mansion with her heavenly Father, she is well, whole, and can see His face as well as all those that have loved and gone before her. Her eyes are a beautiful blue, her hair has a new do, and she still loves all her dogs and popcorn. Her parents preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband; brothers Larry (Kathy) Boss, Fred (Cheryl) Boss; niece Jennifer; nephews Bill and Brian; and several great-nieces and nephews. She will be especially missed by her sisters-in-law Candy and Shelley and her many friends. Special thanks are extended to Dr. Widerborg, Dr. Migas, and all the nurses that loved and cared for Mary at the Community Cancer Center in Bloomington. Cremation rites have been accorded. A short service will be held June 14 at 1:30pm in their home at 13508 Oakhill Rd., Bloomington, followed by an open house. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Community Cancer Center 407 E. Vernon Ave. Normal, IL 61761
