Mary C. Lunday

Mary C. Lunday, 91, of Chillicothe passed away Thursday, Jun 27, 2013 at Proctor Hospital in Peoria, Illinois. She was born in Peoria, IL March 29, 1922, the daughter of Walter E. and Marguerite Wirth Stephenson and lived in Chillicothe much of her life. She worked as a secretary for the Santa Fe Railroad in Chillicothe before marrying Gayle B. Lunday in Marceline, MO, September 22, 1945. He passed away on February 22, 1993. Her parents and three brothers preceded her: Walter B. Stephenson, Robert Stephenson, and Donald P. Stephenson. Surviving are two daughters, Cheryl G. Lunday of Chillicothe and Mrs. David (Rebecca) Ireland of Montrose, IA; two grandchildren, six great grandchildren, as well as one brother Charles Stephenson of Sun City AZ. She was a member of Plymouth Congregational Church (U.C.C.), P.E.O., Peoria Garden Club, and University Women's Club of Chillicothe. Cremation Rites have been accorded with a memorial service scheduled for 3pm, Saturday, July 6, 2013 at Plymouth Congregational Church. Burial will be in Chillicothe City Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Plymouth Congregational Church (U.C.C.) of Chillicothe or the Chillicothe Fire Department.
