Michael F. Stumborg

Michael F. Stumborg, 80, of Peoria passed away at 8:01pm Sunday, July 12 2015 at the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria with family by his side. He was born on November 10, 1934 in Peoria, the son of Orville and Loretta Brew Stumborg. Michael is survived by three children Dr. Michael (Lauren) Stumborg of Fredericksburg, VA, Molly (Tony) Russell of Marquand, MO and Christine (Dr. Matthew) McMillin of Peoria. Also surviving are three minor grandchildren and three adult grandchildren Jacob Sarver of Chillicothe, Kayla Ensor of Chicago and Kaylee McMillin of Peoria. He was a graduate of Spalding High School. He enlisted with the Illinois National Guard and was a non-commissioned officer. Mike was a member of Teamsters Local 627 in Peoria and a member of Holy Family Catholic Parish. He was also a loyal Chicago Cubs fan. Michael's family extends their appreciation and gratitude to the physicians, nurses and staff of the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home. They provided a safe, comfortable compassionate and loving environment during his last days. Cremation rites have been accorded. A private ceremony will be held with immediate family to celebrate his life. Memorials in his name may be given to the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home.
