Nona Mae Bollinger

February 24, 1929 — January 29, 2018

Nona M. Bollinger, 88, of Farmington passed away at 10:36pm, Monday, January 29, 2018 at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

She was born on February 24, 1929 in Columbus, OH daughter of the late Leo and Ernestine Farrand Gaa. She married Gene Bollinger on April 24, 1948 in Columbus, OH. He passed away on January 28, 2008. Also preceding her in death was one son Ricky Bollinger on July 31, 2014, one brother Stanley "Buzz" Gaa and one sister Nina Myers.

Surviving are three children Dan (Dawn) Bollinger, Sandra Scott, and Roy Bollinger. Also surviving are 9 grandchildren Frank (Jill) Bollinger, Melissa Linthicum, Jody White, and Kimberly (Jeremy) Kling Erin (Jason) Wilson, Jimmy Bollinger, Tonya (Bob) Mobley, Jeanette (Neal) Bernhard, Larry Wells. Further surviving are 22 great grandchildren 9 great great grandchildren, one sister Myra Beasley along with a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces nephews and cousins.

She was a homemaker raising her children in Farmington, before moving to El Cajon, CA in the early 1980's through 2010. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and cousin. She loved to visit with family playing Bunco, Yahtzee, bowling, singing, writing poetry, watching soap operas and listening to country music.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A time to celebrate Nona's life is scheduled for 5:30pm Friday, February 2, 2018, at the First Baptist Church of Farmington with a dinner to follow. Inurnment of her remains will be at a later date at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery in San Diego, CA. To share memories and condolences with the family, visit www.peoriafuneral.com.
