Norma Brinker

Norma J. Brinker, 86, of Peoria passed away at 11:53am on Thursday, March 6, 2014 at Unity Point Health-Methodist in Peoria. She was born on November 30, 1927 in Peoria the daughter of Robert and Myrtle Ahlsted Shelton. She married Herman F. Brinker on March 27, 1948 in Peoria. Surviving are her children Dennis (Suzanne) Brinker; Gary (Becky) Brinker both of Bartonville, Coleen Brinker; Bruce Brinker both of Peoria. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren. Three sons Kenneth, Cary, Brian one brother and three sisters, preceded her in death. Norma was a Gold Star Mother, a past president of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post 8662, as well as a member of the American Legion Post 979. She lived the last 17 years at B' nai B'rith Covetant Apartments in Peoria where she volunteered for many activities. In her free time she loved to crochet and spend time with her family. Cremation rites have been accorded. The family will receive friends Saturday, March 22, 2014 from 4pm until 7pm at the Veterans Pub and Pizza in Peoria.
