Patricia J. Aldred

Patricia J. Aldred, 78, of East Peoria, IL, passed away on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL.

She was born on November 27, 1945, in Kewanee, IL, the daughter of Gerald R. and Doris M. Earley Craghead. She married Ronald T. Aldred on September 21, 1963. Her parents, her husband, Ronald, one brother, Robert R. Craghead, one brother-in-law, Donald J. Aldred, and one sister-in-law, Pearl H. Stone, all preceded her in death.

Surviving are her son, Ron (and Jennifer) Aldred of Pontiac, IL; daughter, Angela Aldred of East Peoria, IL; sister-in-law, Sharon Craghead of Metamora, IL; brother, Thomas "Topper" (and Sandee) Craghead of Mapleton, IL, close friends/caregivers, Sharon Hill and Joe Anderson of Creve Coeur, IL and many loved nieces and nephews.

Pat, being a natural caregiver, achieved an Associates Degree in nursing from Illinois Central College. She spent the beginning of her work career as secretary and medical transcriptionist in several medical offices. But Pat's care for others and tenderheartedness flourished when she spent over fifteen years as the secretary in the Social Services department of OSF Saint Francis Medical Center. Pat cherished her family, cooking and baking, reading cookbooks, and a good garage sale. She was an avid reader, and if she had a curiosity about anything, especially a medical issue, there was always a trip to the library and multiple books to read.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A graveside service is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria. The family has entrusted Affordable Funeral & Cremation Services of Central Illinois with the arrangements.
