Pedro Perez

Pedro Luis Perez, 60, of Spring Bay passed away at 4:09pm Tuesday, May 19, 2015 after battling cancer. He was born February 11, 1955 in Quito, Ecuador the son of Luis Enrique Perez Herrera and Piedad Conception Coronel. He married Dollie Hayworth in Fort Madison, IA. He then married Cheryl Stewart in Canton, IL. Pedro was last married to Jeanette Sary on April 18, 2007 in Peoria. Surviving are his wife, one daughter Stella (Tim) Perez of Peoria; four sons Joshua (Kathie) Perez of East Peoria, Diego (Amanda) Perez, Zachary (Mindi) Perez both of Canton, IL; and Jordan (Sarah) Perez of St. George, UT. Also surviving are many extended family members and friends living in Ecuador, as well as his sister's family in Chicago. His parents, one son Luis, one sister Cecilia and one brother Virgillio preceded him in death. Pedro worked for Unity Point Health-Methodist from 1992 until October of 2014, last working as a surgical technologist in labor and delivery. He had many enjoyments in life including photography, specifically birds, woodcarving. He was a very artistic man that cherished spending time with his family and was very loved. He will always be remembered as a kind man with a wonderful sense of humor. Cremation rites have been accorded. A Memorial Service for Pedro is scheduled for 10am Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at Mason Funeral Home in Germantown Hills, IL. Fr. Greg Jozefiak will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to his service In lieu of flowers memorials in his name may be given to Emiquon National Wildlife Refuge.
