Richard List

Richard J. List Sr., 63, of Peoria passed away peacefully at 6:00am, Thursday, January 9, 2014 at Heights Health and Rehabilitation Center in Peoria Heights. He was born on June 24, 1950 in Peoria the son of Earl F. and Lorraine E. Johnson List. He married Jessie "Sharon" Ogle on February 21, 1970 in Peoria. Surviving are his wife and their children Kevin (Joan) Nelson of Bartonville, Rochelle (Norman McGhee) List of Peoria. Further surviving are three grandchildren Brittany Nelson, Brett (Emma) Nelson and McKenzie McGhee; two great grandchildren Brooklyn Brooks and Liam Nelson, 9 nieces, 7 nephews, 6 great nephews, 6 great nieces and three great great nephews, and two great great nieces. Also surviving are one brother Earl (Donna) List of Mackinaw, IL; three sisters Patricia (Bob) Stumpf of Arizona; Jo Ann Jones of East Peoria; and Valerie (Sherry) List of Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother Clara Pirrello, Maternal Grandmother Edith Johnson, parents, one son Richard J. List Jr., one brother Fredrick L. List, one sister Carol A. Urban, and one nephew Gus Mundt. He worked construction for the majority of his life. He enjoyed fishing, camping, cooking out and especially spending time with his family. He always had a knack of making people laugh with his pranks and was the life of the party. He is loved and will be missed by all. Cremation rites have been accorded with a memorial service scheduled for 2:00pm Monday, January 13, 2014 at Peoria Church of the Nazarene 5504 N. University St. in Peoria with Chaplain Flo Durdel officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the family, to be given to a charity of their choice.
