Richard D. Mccloud

Richard D. McCloud, 72, of Chillicothe passed away on Thursday, Dec. 4, 2014 at Unity Point Health Proctor in Peoria. Richard was born on June 3 1942 to Franklin and Vera Huxtable McCloud Sr. and was raised by his foster father Robert King of Princeville. He married his high school sweetheart Sharon Waddell on September 12, 1964 in Peoria. They had a little over 50 wonderful years together and she survives. Also surviving are his children Michelle Elijah of Rogers, AR, Richard P. McCloud and Ronald McCloud both of Niceville, FL. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren, two great grandchildren as well as two brothers Gary of Pekin and Donald of Missouri two sisters Barbara Jean McCloud and Vera Mae Welch both of Peoria. His parents, his foster father, two brothers, one half brother and one-half sister preceded Richard in death. Richard was of the Baptist faith and attended the Faith Baptist Church in Chillicothe. He loved the Lord and was a faithful Christian to the end. Richard sang at the Heritage Manor Nursing Home and at church every chance he got. He preached at the Peoria Mission at every opportunity. He never missed the occasion to witness for the Lord. Richard was a self-employed roofer owning and operating M&M Roofing Co. in Chillicothe for many years. He was a kind and loving man who would help anyone in need. He had many enjoyments in life including spending time with his family or doing for the Lord, and will be dearly missed by all. Honoring Richards request, cremation rites have been accorded with a private family memorial service at a later date. Memorial contributions in his name may be given to Faith Baptist Church in Chillicothe in care of Carl Spencer or Pastor Robert Ohlman.
