Richard P. Voegele, 66, of Peoria passed away at 9:30pm May 4, 2015 at his residence following a brief illness. He was born on September 1, 1948 in Peoria the son of the late Richard and Leona King Voegele. Surviving are four brothers Dave (Wendy) Voegele of West Peoria; Mark (Bev) Voegele of Eldorado, Springs, MO; James Voegele of Peoria and Vincent Voegele of Oneida, IL; two sisters Barbara (John) Lovell of Marquette Heights and Kathryn (Robert) Spellious of East Peoria. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. His longtime companion Elaine Russell also survives him. Richard was an honorably discharged U.S. Navy Veteran serving during the Vietnam Conflict. For most of his working life, he was a self-employed mechanic. Later in life he worked for Allied Iron and Steel in Peoria. He enjoyed many things in life including stock car racing as well as NASCAR. Cremation Rites have been accorded. A time to celebrate his life will be Saturday, May 9th 2015 from 1pm until 4pm at Fraternal Order of Eagles Peoria Aerie #265 located at 1704 South East Lane St. in Peoria. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given in his name to the Illinois Cancer Care 8940 Wood Sage Rd Peoria, IL 61615.
