Ricky S. Meyer, 61, of Peoria, IL, passed away on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at The Loft Rehabilitation Center in East Peoria, IL.

He was born in Peoria on December 9, 1963, the son of Dorwin and Sharon Goins Meyer.

Surviving are his father, Dorwin and Sandra Meyer (step-mother) of East Peoria, one brother, Randy (Bonnie) Meyer of New Liberty, IA, and two sisters, Michele (Christopher) Watson of Washington, IL, and Julie (Joseph) Angle of East Peoria. Also surviving are nieces and nephews Kevin (Kimee) Meyer, Katelyn Angle, Cameron Watson, Brady Watson, Brock Angle, Trenton Watson, and Blake Angle. He was preceded in death by his mother.

Rick served in the U.S. Navy, dedicating his skills to restoring the iconic USS Forrestal aircraft carrier. His diverse career also included roles in manufacturing and the service industry, with his most recent position being at Bradley University's cafeteria.

From a young age, Rick cherished the moments spent camping and fishing with his grandparents-adventures that sparked a lifelong passion for the great outdoors. He found joy in sunbathing by his parents' pool, soaking up the sun, and passionately cheering for his nieces and nephews at their sporting events, especially when it came to baseball and softball. Throughout his life, Rick formed bonds with many beloved pets and animals.

While there will be no public services, Rick's family will privately celebrate his life. In lieu of flowers, friends are encouraged to honor his memory by donating to TAPs Animal Shelter, a cause close to his heart.
