Ricky Vespa

Richard "Ricky" Vespa, 38, of Peoria passed away at 9:35 A.M. Friday July 15, 2016 at St. John's Hospital in Springfield due to an automobile accident. He was born on May 24, 1978 in Peoria, Illinois to Richard and Deborah (Miller) Vespa. He is survived by his father and step-mom Sue (McFarden) Vespa and his three sisters: Stacey (Eric) Nau; Nikki (Mike) Price; Kate Vespa and fiancAC. Jason Yachymczyk; and 2 nephews and 2 nieces. His mother Deborah Vespa preceded him in death. He worked as a roll operator for O'Brien Steel for four years. He was proud to work for such a wonderful company and its people. The Vespa family would like to thank O'Brien Steel for its generosity during this difficult time. Ricky had a contagious laugh, a selfless heart and a witty sense of humor. He enjoyed fishing, the Chicago Bears and the St. Louis Cardinals. Spending time with his family brought Ricky great joy. Saving lives through organ donation ultimately proved his giving nature. Cremation rites have been accorded and a private celebration of life was held in his honor. In his memory, memorials may be given to Gift Of Hope.
