Rita C. Korstick

Rita C. Korstick, 88, of Peoria formerly of Aurora passed away on the afternoon of July 23, 2013 at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria. She was born on January 12, 1925 in Streator, IL the daughter of Joseph and Barbara Steffan Sheridan. She married Robert P. Korstick on November 25, 1948 in Streator, IL and enjoyed 55 years of marriage before Robert's death on September 4, 2004. Her son Philip, two brothers and two sisters also preceded her in death. Survivors include two sons Robert (Susan) Korstick of North Aurora, IL and Randy (Valerie) Korstick of Aurora and one daughter Mary Rose (Dale) Myers of Dunlap, IL. Also surviving are six grandchildren as well as two sisters Eleanor Gallick of Streator, IL and Helen Andrews of Whitehall, MI. Rita was a 1946 graduate of OSF St. Francis School of Nursing in Peoria, IL and worked over 40 years as registered nurse in Streator and Aurora. She was a member of Annunciation Catholic Church in Aurora for over 50 years. Rita was a loving caregiver to many throughout her life and cherished her times with family and friends. The family would like to thank the staff at Liberty Village Hawthorne Inn for their loving care over the past two years. A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 11am Friday July 26, 2013 at Annunciation Catholic Church in Aurora, IL with Fr. Patrick Gillmeyer O.S.B. officiating. Burial will be in Marywood Cemetery in Aurora, IL. Visitation will be Thursday July 25th from 4pm until 6pm at Mason Funeral Home, 375 Old Germantown Rd in Germantown Hills, IL. Memorials may be made to the Thompson Center Client Activity Fund, 309 W. New Indian Trail Ct. Aurora, IL 60506.
