Robert Goulding, 76, of Morton, IL, peacefully departed this life on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at his home, surrounded by cherished memories.
Born on December 28, 1948, in Canton, IL, Robert was the beloved son of Fredrick and Lulu Gibbs Goulding. He found his soulmate, Barbara, and they joyfully exchanged vows on August 10, 1968, in the picturesque setting of West Point, NY. Barbara passed away on January 16, 2019. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Sally White, and one brother, Bill Goulding.
Robert is lovingly remembered by his three children: Stephan Goulding of Machesney Park, IL; Stephanie Fullerton of Vacaville, CA; and Allen Goulding of Kewanee, IL, along with seven adoring grandchildren who brought him immense joy. He is also survived by one brother, DJ Goulding.
Robert honorably served in the US Army and was proud to have served his country in Vietnam.
For 42 years, he worked at Caterpillar Tractor Company before enjoying a well-earned retirement in 2011. He had a passion for life that shone through his love of fishing, cooking, bowling, gardening, and hunting. He particularly cherished the annual fishing trips to the serene waters of Kentucky Lake with his friends, all while being a member of the Tremont Sportsman Club.
Robert was an exceptional cook, renowned for his delightful fish fries and cherry pies, which brought friends and family together in joyous gatherings.
