Robert Hopwood

Robert A. Hopwood, 76, of Peoria passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at Unity Point Health-Methodist. He was born August 17, 1938 in Peoria the son of Robert Raymond and Reva Catherine (Holt) Hopwood. He married Marilyn J. Worrick on March 17, 1967 in Peoria and she survives. Also surviving are three children Vicki (Roger) Alig of Metamora, Ron (Sue) Messmore of Dunlap and Cathy (Russ) Scachette of Mapleton. Also surviving are five grandchildren, two great granddaughters. Further surviving are one brother Dennis (Donna) Hopwood of Peoria; three sisters Peggy (Lyle) Doubet of Trivoli, Joanne Lorendo of Deerwood, MN and Janet (Curt) Norton of Canton, IL as well as one sister in law Thelma Hopwood of Creve Coeur, IL and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother Gene Hopwood, and one infant sister. He worked for Rosetter's Ford in Peoria for several years; He also owned and operated R&H Appraisal Service in Peoria for many years. An avid NASCAR fan his favorite driver was Dale Earnhardt Jr. Cremation Rites have been accorded. A time to celebrate his life will be at a later date. Memorials in his name may be given to a charity of the donor's choice.
