Robert Sawatzki

Robert W. Sawatzki, 63, of Peoria passed away on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria. He was born on November 26, 1949 in Peoria to Mary Louise Sawatzki. He married Susan L. Henderson on January 24, 1972 in Peoria. Surviving are his wife; three sons Bruce (Elizabeth) Burton; John Burton and Troy (Elizabeth Nelson) Sawatzki all of Peoria and one daughter Tracy (Cody) Tschaepe all of Peoria; 8 grandchildren; Briana, Dalton, Faith, Austin, Morgan, Dustin, Gavin, and Payson. Also surviving are two brothers Donald (Sally) Sawatzki and Ronald (Connie) Sawatzki all of Peoria and three sisters Marretta (Ronald) Meredith of Woodridge, IL; Doris (Lyle) Smith of Pekin, IL; and Hazel Gosnell of Tennessee. His mother, and one brother Delbert Trent preceded him in death. Robert was an honorably discharged US Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam War. He was a galvanizer at UNR Rohn Manufacturing in Bellevue, IL for many years. He was a member of Laramie Street Baptist Church in Peoria. Cremation Rites have been accorded with a service at 12 noon, on Saturday, April 20, 2013 at his church with Rev. Jeramie Davis officiating to celebrate his life. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name may be given to his church.
