Robert J. Strubhar, 86, of Groveland passed away on Monday evening June 18, 2012 in the emergency room of Proctor Hospital in Peoria. He was born on November 30, 1925 in Groveland the son of Carl and Ida King Strubhar. He first married Ruth Kahrs in Peoria. He later married Jeannette Kearney on May 29, 1963 in Peoria. She survives. Also surviving are three sons; Bryan Strubhar of Peoria, Roger (Micki) Strubhar of Clinton, IL, and Mark Strubhar of Philadelphia, PA. two daughters Linda (Mark Burbidge) Hannon of East Peoria and Priscilla (Ken) Gresham of Delavan, IL. Also surviving are five grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren as well as one nephew Gary (LaVerne) Strubhar of Pekin, one niece Sharon (Joel) Walsh of Pinellas Park, FL. His parent's one brother Elmer, one niece Carlene Strubhar preceded him in death. Robert was a WWII US Navy Veteran serving in the South Pacific from 1943 until being honorably discharged in 1946. He was a steam fitter with local #353 in Peoria and attended Bethany Missionary Church in East Peoria. Funeral Services will be 10am Friday June 22, 2012 at Mason Funeral Home in Germantown Hills. Visitation will be one-hour prior to his services. Burial will be 1pm on Friday June 22nd at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield with Military Honors. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in his name to Southside Mission of Peoria
