Ronald "Tom" Aldred

Ronald T. Aldred, 82, of East Peoria, IL, passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at Aperion Care Morton Villa in Morton, IL.

He was born on March 10, 1942, in Peoria, IL, the son of Donald W. and Geraldine A. Weber Aldred. He married Patricia J. Craghead on September 21, 1963. His parents, one brother, Donald J. Aldred, one sister, Pearl H. Stone, and one brother-in-law, Robert R. Craghead, all preceded him in death.

Surviving are his wife, Patricia of East Peoria, IL; son, Ron (and Jennifer) Aldred of Pontiac, IL; daughter, Angela Aldred of East Peoria, IL; sister-in-law, Sharon Craghead of Metamora, IL; brother-in-law, Thomas "Topper" (and Sandee) Craghead of Mapleton, IL and many loved nieces and nephews.

Ron, though he went by Tommy growing up and then by Ron or RT or Tom in his adult years, joined the Air Force in 1962 and served until honorably discharged in 1966. Tom earned a Bachelor's degree in Fire Science from Sangamon State University while working for Caterpillar Tractor Co. for many years, retiring as a Fire Inspector.

Ron was a man who cherished his family, his dogs, and his Pontiac automobiles. He was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling and seeing new places.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A graveside service with Military Honors is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.  The family has entrusted Affordable Funeral & Cremation Services of Central Illinois with the arrangements.
