Ronald Cantrell

Ronald G. Cantrell, 56, Bloomington, went to be with the Lord at his residence on Tuesday, February 12, 2013. Ron was born June 12, 1956, to James D. and Norma Jean (Collie) Cantrell in Anna, Illinois. He married Kathy Wilson. Surviving are his wife; daughter, Brittany Jo Cantrell, Bloomington; father, James D. Cantrell, Anna; three sisters, Linda (Jim) Ellis, Normal, Brenda (Leon) Murphy, Cape Girardeau, Mo., and Donna (Tony) Coryell, Dongola, IL; nephews Todd (Stephanie) Ellis, Carterville, IL, and Joshua (Krystle) Boyd, Cape Girardeau, Mo.; nieces Sara (Tom) Roberts, Normal, and Jessica Coryell, Dongola, IL, and multiple extended family. His mother and one nephew, Carl Franklin Coryell, preceded him in death. A graduate of Anna-Jonesboro High School. Ron was employed by GTE. In recent years he had also been employed at Dairy Queen and Huck's locations in Normal and Bloomington, IL, sharing a smile with every customer. He enjoyed movies, reading and spending time with others, especially his co-worker family at Huck's. Family, friends and co-workers will miss his kind spirit and thoughtful nature. A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, February 16 at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Bloomington, with the Rev. Brian Goke officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
