Sandra K. Marchand

Sandra Kay Marchand, 69, of Peoria, IL passed away at 4:05am, Sunday, January 25, 2015 at Unity Point Health Proctor in Peoria. She was born December 1, 1945 to John and Ethel (Wirth) McGovern. She married Edward Marchand on October 5, 1974. She is survived by 2 sons: Richard (Debbie) Marchand of Peoria, and Timothy Marchand of Hanna City and two grandsons: Tyler and Trevor Marchand of Peoria. She is also survived by four siblings: Pete (Wanda) Forquer of Peoria, Barbara (Joe) Polenc of Plainfield, IL, Marilyn (Graham) Alcott of Napa, CA., and Patricia (Ed) Winchell of Peoria. Her parents, one sister, Leona (James) Burton, and one brother James McGovern preceded her in death. Sandie graduated from Manual High School in 1963 and became a homemaker and stay-at-home mom. She did hold several part time jobs through the years, most notably, the many summers she spent alongside her sister, Leona, working at Lou's Drive-In. Sandie loved her grandchildren and family and all things relating to babies and animals. She enjoyed garage sales, collecting beanie babies, and heartwarming movies. Honoring her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. A Memorial Service will be 11am Saturday, January 31, 2015 at The Wilton Mortuary in Peoria. Memorials can be made in her name to American Diabetes Association.
