Suzanne "Susy" (Gerard) Hobbick

Suzanne "Susy" Hobbick, 75, of Peoria, IL passed away on Thursday, January 13, 2022.

Suzanne was born on December 22, 1946 to Phyllis (Stone) Gerard and George Gerard. She married Joseph Hobbick on June 15, 1971, in Peoria.

She was preceded in death by her husband Joe on August 1, 2021, her parents, and great-nephew Nick Gerard.

She is survived by her brother Jon (Connie) Gerard, her sister Lisa Gerard of Pekin, and nephew Dathan (Tracey) Gerard and their children Shayli and Kyle.

Suzanne graduated from Pekin High School in 1964 and started her working career at Corn Products. She and Joe owned and managed several highly successful night clubs and bars in Jacksonville, Springfield, Peoria, and Rock Island. Suzanne was a well-respected business owner.

Suzanne was an animal lover who especially loved her cat Maggie, who was considered part of the family. She was a woman who lived life on her own terms, which we should all aspire to do. Susy will be greatly missed by her family and many lifelong friends.

Cremation will be conducted by Affordable Funeral and Cremation Service. As per Suzanne's wishes there will be no services. Memorials can be made to Stark County Historical Society, PO Box 524, Toulon, IL 61483 or to TAPS Animal Shelter, 100 Taps Lane, Pekin, IL 61554.
