Thomas Pifer

Thomas R. Pifer, 46, of Peoria passed away at 8:15pm Monday February 13, 2012 at his residence. He was born on July 20, 1965 in Sacramento, CA to Ray and Nellie Pifer. He never married and is survived by his fiance Susan and daughter Amelia Grace. His brother Timothy and two nieces, Dana and Tami, also survive him. His parents preceded Tom in death. He had been a caregiver most of his life choosing many professions that incorporated this quality, from Explorer Police Officer in California to an EMTI in Peoria. He cared for both his parents until their deaths and his last place of work was with Kroger's here in Peoria where he made many friends. He loved science and was fascinated with anything military. Combining these loves he was in the early stages of creating a science fiction novel and there remain several technical drawings connected to the project. His wish of giving himself for scientific research has been observed and a memorial service will be arranged at a later date. The preferred form of remembrance is to donate to either the American Cancer Society, Illinois Cancer Care or if you prefer a charity of your choice. We welcome any stories or photos of Thomas so that we may know more than just our journey with him.
