Thomas Rusk

Thomas C. Rusk Sr., 67, of Kewanee, and formerly of Hillsdale, died at 5:54pm Sunday, March 9, 2014 at Kewanee Care.

He was born on June 27, 1946 in Canton, IL the son of Leon C. and Nora Louise (Thomas) Rusk.

Surviving are a daughter Dawn (Jon) Celus of Kewanee; sons Tom (Nicole) Rusk Jr. of Mattoon and Shawn (Stephanie) Rusk of Kewanee; a brother Raymond Rusk of Kewanee; sisters Donna Harkness and Nancy Sollenberger both of Farmington; grandsons Spencer Chayer and Colton Rusk of Kewanee and Corbin Rusk of Mattoon; granddaughters Kellee Chayer and Cora Rusk of Kewanee and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and granddaughters Cassandra "Cassie" and Caitlyn Rusk.

He attended Farmington High School and worked for the local Laborers Union for 19 years. He was a member of the Fraternal Organization of Eagles and the American Legion. He enjoyed playing cards at local bars and having morning coffee with family and friends.

Cremation rites have been accorded and services are pending. Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens, Peoria. Memorials may be given to the Rusk family.
