Thomas
Skelley
July 8, 1953 – June 1, 2026
William Edward Skelley, 72, passed away peacefully in Peoria, Illinois, on June 1, 2026. A celebration of life, pending his return home, will be announced.
Born in Hartford, Connecticut, on July 8, 1953, Bill graduated from the University of Phoenix with a Master's in Computer Science and double minors in Math and English. He spent over half his life working with technology and was known for his dedication to emerging tech and for managing Technical Support at the Peoria Civic Center.
Bill was a skilled marksman in the United States Army, and a plaque honoring his marksmanship was displayed at Fort Dix. He was a woodsman who loved fishing for trout and hunting pheasant with his beloved setters. He believed in family first, took great pride in his 52 years of marriage, and was a devoted father, husband, and grandfather.
Bill was preceded in death by his sister Sharon. He is survived by his beloved wife, Donna; his son, Raymond, and his wife, Ann; his daughter, Jennifer, and her partner, Eric; and his 3 grandchildren, Liam, Abby, and Aaron. He is also survived by his brothers, Bobby and Jimmy, and his sister, Patty.
Bill will be remembered for his brilliant mind, quick wit, and unique charm. His larger-than-life presence and booming laughter were gifts to anyone who knew him. He was both encouraging and nurturing and would be the first to tell someone they were capable and to show them how it's done. Bill tried to make everything he touched better and often succeeded. He will be deeply missed.
