Thomas "Tom" Verdette Daly

Thomas "Tom" Verdette Daly, 53, of Marquette Heights, IL passed away on Thursday, September 21, 2017. Tom was born on November 10, 1963 in Pekin, IL to Thomas Charles Daly and Betty Lou Van Dusen. He is survived by his wife Mona Daly of Marquette Heights; daughter Sarah Daly of Pekin; step-son Chris (Megan) Harris of Bartonville; siblings Bill (Angie) Daly of Glasford, Eric (Lepa) Daly of Atlanta, GA, Cathe (Chris) Kellenberger of Washington, Kevin (Cindy) Van Dusen of Metamora, and Sheila (Mike) Lugo of San Antonio, TX; step-mother Linda Daly of West Peoria; and grandson Luke Harris of Bartonville. His parents and five brothers and sisters preceded him in death. After attending Pekin Community High School, he worked in various fields throughout his short life. The majority of his career was in the transportation industry. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and was an active member in the Freebird Chapter of ABATE, rooting on the St. Louis Cardinals, hunting and fishing, playing competitive billiards, and spending time with family and friends. His free spirit and soft heart will be greatly missed by all. Cremation rites have been accorded. Tom opted not to have a memorial service of any kind, but the family will announce a celebration of his life gathering at a future date. Online condolences at www.peoriafuneral.com.
