Valerie J. Paine

Valerie J. Paine, 91, of Peoria passed away at 10:45am Monday, September 21, 2015 at her residence. She was born on March 27, 1924 in Peoria, IL to Hannes and Ellen Anderson Hansen. After graduating from Peoria High School, she worked at Jefferson Bank in Peoria where she met Robert (Bob) Keel and married him in 1944. He passed away on September 3, 1969. On September 14, 1971 she married John Paine in Peoria. He passed away on September 17, 2008. Surviving are her daughter Janelle Keel Grammer of Peoria; stepchildren Colleen (Scott) Paine-Dunham of Peoria, James (Elena) Paine of Laguna Hills, CA, and Robert (Tina) Paine of East Peoria. Further surviving are 8 grandchildren Jake Grammer, Joshua Waldbesser, Ryan Sieg, Megan Mishler, Johnathan Mingus, Rachel Hathway, Zach Paine, Cooper Paine; 8 greatgrandchildren Jacob and Bre Grammer, Chloe, Anna and Izzy Mishler-Trerice, Chris, Claire and Cara Hathway as well as two sisters Harriette Whiteside of Houston, TX, and Marilyn "Jolly" (Dale) Turnbull of Tucson, AZ. Valerie had many enjoyments in life including golf, needlework, traveling, bowling, bridge, and games with all of her dear family and friends. She was a member of First English Lutheran Church, Peoria. Cremation rites have been accorded. A Memorial Service for Valerie is scheduled for 12 noon, Wednesday September 30, 2015 at First English Lutheran Church with Pastor Knight Wells officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to her service. Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to First English Lutheran Church or Dunlap Veterinary Clinic.
