Virginia Burgess

Virginia Ruth Burgess, 92, of Chillicothe, passed away peacefully, Monday July 17, 2017 at Heritage Health in Chillicothe. She was born on October 10, 1924 in Fenton County, AR, daughter of Dave and Verena Davis Whiteside. She married Edsel Burgess in 1948 and he passed away in 2011. Also preceding her in death were two brothers Kenneth Whiteside and Edward Whiteside Surviving are three sons Dennis (Anna) Burgess of Chillicothe, Terry Burgess of Peoria and David (Sue) Burgess of Stratford, MO. Also surviving are five grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. Virginia was a CNA at Methodist Hospital for many years. She was a member of Dayton Avenue Baptist Church in Peoria where she had been active with the women's club. Cremation Rites have been accorded. A memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Sunday, July 23, 2017, at Dayton Avenue Baptist Church. Memorials in her name may be given to Susan G. Komen for the Cure or to Methodist Hospice.
