Wanda M. Simmons, 82, of Mossville, passed away at 11:55am Friday, February 20, 2015 at Unity Point Health-Proctor. She was born on January 15, 1933 in Clinton Iowa the daughter of Floyd L. and Laura T. Stringham Lindsay. She married James H. Simmons on July 3, 1963 in Toulon, IL. He passed away November 8, 2000 in Peoria. 3 brothers also preceded her in death. Surviving are two daughters Connie Hedman of Delavan, IL, Betty (Chuck) Jenkins of Peoria, one son James M. Simmons of Sand Spring, OK. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren; one brother Ernest Lindsay of Keithsburg, IL, three sisters Elaine Parrett and Esther Hartter both of Peoria and Laura England of Wyoming. She bowled with several leagues over the years, but most recently the Thursday Morning Ladies League at Mt. Hawley Bowling Alley. She enjoyed spending time in her flower and vegetable gardens and in her spare time enjoyed crocheting. Cremation Rites have been accorded. A Celebration of Life and burial of her remains in Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria will be held at a later date. Memorials in her name may be given to St. Jude Midwest Affiliate or National Breast Cancer Breast Foundation.
