William Collier

William H. Collier Jr., 70, of Bartonville, IL, passed away at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. He was born on January 8, 1955, in Peoria, IL, the son of William H. and Joyce McKinzie Collier.

Surviving are three daughters, Billie Jo (Dan) Stambaugh of Peoria, Chastity Collier, and Holly Collier, both of Pekin; six grandchildren, Brandon Collier, Bryson Stambaugh, Alisa Edwards, Colton Collier, Sabrina VanDyke, Carissa Collier; four great-grandchildren; Mason, Paisleigh, Zayden, Zailee. Further surviving are one brother, Robin "Tuffy" Collier Sr. of Peoria, and three sisters, Raelene (Darrell) Barton, Joyce Collier, and Kathleen (Ron) Deffenbaugh, all of Peoria. He was preceded in death by two brothers Jay collier and Tony Collier and one sister Cherry McCrimmon.

William dedicated many years of his life to the Neighborhood House, where he worked tirelessly to improve the lives of those around him.

William was an avid enthusiast of vintage cars. He found great pleasure in restoring these beautiful machines to their former glory, a passion he shared with his grandchildren. His love for old music was another of William's defining characteristics. His knowledge of classic tunes was impressive.

William's interests extended to the tranquility of nature, where he could often be found fishing with his grandsons. Those peaceful moments by the water were some of his most treasured times, providing an opportunity to impart wisdom and share stories with the younger generation.

Not one person could find him without a smile. His ability to uplift others was remarkable, and his presence was a source of comfort and happiness.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of life is scheduled for 4 pm Sunday, June 22, 2025, at the Eagle Club in Peoria.
