PEORIA-William Dennis, (Denny) Powers, 76, of Peoria passed away on Sunday, January 8, 2017 at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria, IL. Denny was born on August 31, 1940 in Peoria IL to William and Maxine (Velpel) Powers. Survivors include his children Michael (Karen) Powers, Susan Powers Sturm, Patrick (Kathy) Powers, and Timothy Powers, his brother Michael Powers, several grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter Colleen. After graduating from Spading Institute in Peoria, he served with United States Coast Guard Reserves for 6 years. He then worked as an electrician in the Peoria area until his retirement. Denny was a member of the Izaac Walton League in East Peoria and the Elks Lodge #20 in Peoria. Per Denny's request, there will be no service. Cremation rites will we accorded.
