Peoria Heights, IL – Zachery A. Symmonds, 36, died unexpectedly on December 24, 2019. He was born on November 14, 1983, in Peoria, Illinois, the son of Jonathan P. (Teresa) Symmonds of Peoria Heights and Jackie L. (Eric) Reichard of Washington.

Zac was preceded in death by his Grandparents Ellis and Betty Symmonds of Peoria, Jack Vanderheydt of Marquette Heights , Christina Leason of East Peoria, Richard Reichard of Peoria Heights, Brother Eric Reichard II of East Peoria, Aunt Jacqueline Scogin of Peoria and Cousin Samuel Symmonds of Peoria.

Surviving are his wife Tara Symmonds of Peoria, Daughter Ellie L. Symmonds, Son Zachery A. Symmonds II (their Mother Kristy Cook) of Troy, Five Brothers Joshua (Maggie Bowles) Symmonds of Peoria Heights, Joseph (Tiffany Hartman) Symmonds of Peoria Heights, Micheal (Angela Lollock) Gilman of Dunlap, Matthew Leason of Peoria Heights, Blaine Reichard of Peoria, Grandmother Beverly Vanderhydt of Washington, Grandmother Ruth Reichard of Washington, Niece Patience Symmonds, Nephew Gabriel Symmonds, Nephew Joshua Symmonds Jr., Nephew Anthony Rivera, Nephew Donavin Symmonds, Nephew Joseph Symmonds Jr., Nephew Aiden Miller, Niece Eriyanna Reichard, many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and Friends.

While attending Monroe Avenue Grade School, Kelly Avenue Grade School and Peoria Heights High School he participated in Football, Basketball and the School play. He was a glass glazier in Edwardsville and worked in various construction jobs over the years in Peoria. He had a love for music, playing the guitar and recently new talent for playing the piano. He loved taking his children fishing, horse back riding and swimming at the lake.  He also enjoyed ghost hunting and built a bonfire for his family almost every night. He spent hours helping his Cousin Jennifer (Eric) Grzelak providing care for their Grandfather Ellis Symmonds. He treasured spending time laughing with his brothers, friends and enjoyed the family get-togethers eating all of his favorite foods including drinking cold beer. He never met a stranger and would give you the shirt off of his back even at the toughest time of his life. He had the biggest heart and loved everyone so deeply.

Cremation rites have been accorded. The family will have a Celebration of Life at a later time. A memorial fund has been established for Zac's children Ellie L. Symmonds and Zachery A. Symmonds II and donations accepted at the Busey Bank through Jonathan P. Symmonds.
