Zelma Geraldine Easley

Zelma Geraldine Easley, 95, of Canton, IL, passed away on Monday, December 12, 2022, at Graham Hospital in Canton. She was born August 21, 1927, in Northampton, OH, to James and Mabel (Roberts) Weaver. She married Lawrence "Flat-Top" Easley on June 14, 1969. He preceded her in death in 2008.

She is survived by one sister, Martha Walters. Her son, Douglas Burks, also survives. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Tabytha (Leroy) Bull, Samantha (Chris) Cook, Daisy Burks, Stacy (Tori) Branda, Kathy (Tom) Huggins, Teresa (Chris) Morse, Chad Johnson, Matthew Schoonover, and Nicholas (Cheyanne) Schoonover, along with 16 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, Mark Burks. Also preceding her are four sisters, Blanche, EllaMae, Betty, Sharon, and one brother, Bud.

Geraldine retired from Canton Manufacturing Clothing Factory. She was a member of Canton First Church of Nazarene. She enjoyed bowling, bingo, and gardening, but most of all, her grand and great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life is scheduled for 11:00 am Saturday, December 17, 2022, at Canton First Church of Nazarene, 2051 E. Chestnut St. in Canton. Cremation rites have been accorded.
