Barbara J. Quenon

Barbara Jane Quenon, 78, of Mapleton, IL, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 17, 2022, at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria with family by her side.

She was born September 18, 1943, in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, to Donald and Betty Birkett. She married the love of her life, Gary "Q" Quenon, on August 20, 1988. He preceded her in death on March 17, 2016. She was also preceded in death by her beloved son, Christopher Hecht, sister Rebecca Hurd, brother Timothy Birkett, stepson Ty Quenon, and best four-legged friend, Zeke.

Barb is survived by her daughter, Cheryl (Todd) Davis, her grandsons, Casey and Logan Davis, brother Tom (Pamela) Birkett, sister Tobie (Steve) Mullen, (special) Aunt Jane Henrikson, sister-in-law Barb Rosson, and stepson Gary Quenon II. She loved and was loved by many close nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors, and friends.

Barb and Gary were members of the Pekin Boat Club, enjoying boating and socializing with friends for many years.

Barb was known for her strong sense of self, beauty, charity, and devotion to family. She retired from Citylink after over 20 years of service.

A celebration of her life will be held in her honor at the American Legion Pavilion in Bartonville, IL on Sunday, October 2, 2022, from 1:00 pm-5:00 pm.
