Brenda Seidell Obituary

Brenda Carol Seidell, 82, of Morton, IL, formerly of Bettendorf, IA, passed away peacefully at 1:55 pm on Tuesday, January 11, 2022, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL.

She was born on December 5, 1939, in Rock Island, IL, to the late Keith Webb and Audrey (Cook) Webb Dayhuff. She married Rudy William Edward Seidell, Jr. He passed away on February 16, 1994.

Surviving are her children, Susan L. Angelicchio of Denver, CO, Sally A. Bussey of Yelm, WA, David W. (Robin R.) Seidell of Eddyville, KY, Sandra C. (Tom) Seidell Bruner of Colorado Springs, CO, and Derrick W. Seidell of Coralville, IA; grandchildren, Corey, Stacey, Shawn, Clayton, Darin, Jennifer, and Brett; great-grandchildren, Lydia, Devin, Caleb, Caitlin, Katya, Annalyse, Clarissa, Keyarra, Ayla, John, and Carlie; and siblings, Kenneth Webb and Judy Webb Harrison. In addition to her parents and her loving husband, she was preceded in death by siblings Lyle Eugene Webb, Jerry Webb, Barbara McDowell, and Charles Webb.

Brenda was a loving Domestic Engineer. She enjoyed watching crime TV shows or as she called it “murder and mayhem”, league bowling, league billiards, and crafting. She loved making crafts and selling them at craft fairs and consignment stores. Her pool trophies and plaques (along with our Dad’s) lined the walls in our basement for many years. She was especially proud of the “most 8 ball breaks” in one billiard season.

Brenda would tell the story to anyone who would listen as she proudly described how she enjoyed using our Dad’s spare wood pile every time he would go out of town to make functional projects such as the summer picnic table on the back patio for our family and friends to eat at, laundry room cabinets and bookshelf in our childhood home, the garage storage cabinets, the backyard winter ice rink for all the neighbor kids, and the playhouse out back. She loved working with her hands to build up the place we all called home, and she loved seeing the pride in her husband’s face at all her accomplishments.

When us kids were growing up, she took a class on bicycle repair so she could help all the neighbor kids do bike repairs and maintenance. Brenda loved drawing anything she seen and especially loved drawing cartoon characters. She loved designing shirts for the kids’ bowling teams, Halloween outfits, and other special events.
