Charles A. “Butch” Franklin, Jr., 68, of Bartonville, passed away at 8:20pm, Thursday, May 10, 2018 at his residence surrounded by his family after a two year battle with cancer.
He was born on November 11, 1949, in Peoria the son of Charles and Anna Marie Allison Franklin. He married Kathryn I. Parks on June 20th1970 in Peoria.
Surviving are his wife, two daughters Misty (Ward) Ballard of Bartonville, IL and Holly (Ryan) Alexander of Canton, IL. Also surviving are three grandchildren Mandi Ballard of Peoria Heights, IL, Danielle Franklin of Rockford, IL and Hunter Franklin of Canton, IL; one sister Lora (Glenn) Hinners of Bellevue, IL along with his beloved German Shephard Harley. His parents and one sister Patsy Rogers preceded him in death.
Butch was a machine operator at Caterpillar for 31 years retiring in 2004. He loved riding his motorcycle and spending time with his family.
If you were to ask Butch his greatest accomplishment, he would tell you it was being known as a loving son, husband, father, grandfather and friend. By all who knew him, he will be remembered fondly and cherished always.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A graveside service will be 11:00am, Thursday, May 17, 2018, at Swan Lake Memory Gardens. Deacon Tony Brown will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name may be given to Tazewell Animal Protective Society (TAPS), 100 Taps Lane, Pekin, Illinois 61554.
