Donald "Duck" Davis Obituary

     Donald "Duck" Davis, 93, of West Peoria, passed away on Thursday, September 21, 2023, at his residence.

     Donald was born on February 7, 1930, in Peoria, the son of William C. and Esther M. (Le Conte) Davis. He married Donna Heathcoat on March 7, 1954. She preceded him in death on December 4, 1988. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Sara Roling and brother, Bill Davis. On May 25, 1990, he married Doris Breaden in Peoria. She survives.

     He is also survived by his children, Dennis Davis of Bartonville, Douglas Davis of Peoria, Dawn Ellen (Gordon) Rohrer of Bradenton, FL, Karen (the late Larry) Monroe of Peoria and Lisa Fuchs of Pekin; son-in-law, Jeffrey Roling of Peoria; sister, Sandra Tolley of Peoria; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Davis of Bartonville; ten grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren.

     Donald proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He worked at Keystone Steel & Wire for 43 years, retiring in 1991. He served on the Board of Directors for Redbrand Credit Union for many years. He was a member of the American Legion Post 979 and VFW Post 3883. 

     Donald will be remembered for the love he had for his family and anyone who knew him well. He told the best stories about his life experiences and was able to fix or remodel anything in a home. He loved watching all sports, but especially enjoyed rooting for the Packers.
