Edward Poor

Edward A. Poor, 68, passed away on Monday, August 14, 2023, at his residence with his family by his side. He was born in Elmhurst, IL, on December 18, 1954, the son of Orville and Amaryllis Poor Sr.

He is survived by his son Chris (Suzie) Poor, and one grandson, Russell Poor. Also surviving are one brother Orville Poor Jr. one sister Carol (Robert) Taylor, and seven nephews.

Ed was a man of many talents, but his skilled craftsmanship as a carpenter truly defined him. He dedicated his career to the construction industry, working tirelessly as a member of Union Local 237. Ed's hands created and shaped countless structures, leaving behind a legacy of beautifully crafted buildings that will continue to stand tall.

Outside of work, he had a deep passion for hunting and fishing. Whether he was tracking game in the woods or casting his line into a tranquil lake, these outdoor activities brought him immense joy. Ed found solace in nature, sharing these experiences with his loved ones, who cherished the memories they created together.

Ed's spirit of camaraderie and love extended beyond his hobbies. He adored spending time with his family and friends, creating bonds and laughter that will be treasured forever. Ed leaves behind a rich tapestry of connections that will be remembered fondly by all those who had the privilege of knowing him.

Ed will forever be remembered as a hardworking carpenter, an avid outdoorsman, and a beloved family member and friend. His legacy lives on not only in the physical structures he built but also in the memories and the impact he made on those fortunate to have crossed his path.

In accordance with Ed's wishes, cremation rites have been accorded, and no services will be scheduled. Memorials in his name may be given to a charity of the donor's choice. Affordable Funeral & Cremation Services of Central Illinois, Peoria, assists the family with arrangements.
